The grape vine motif on a wine door is so common, the challenge was to try and make one that would read as higher quality than what you might see at your typical Italian restaurant. I designed this door with a trellis vine motif striving for a more organic realistic growth pattern. So I decided to have one vine as the start point as opposed to one on each side. The stalk is generally tapered towards the top, but sometimes gets larger in girth as I had noticed happens in the real thing. The leaves were laser cut in two sizes and then veined and formed as individuals all different.
